The week has flown by! This week has been simply the best yet. Had various UN meetings where I had the opportunity to write-up briefs on! π Had the opportunity to use all my skills including translation. π On the plus side the "Hooligans" aka Interns, we're having a blast in our office! Never a dull moment with Lilah & Larry. Had a lovely night out with them & Connie. They took us out to eat GELATO!!! They had so many flavones and cute designs, it was super hard to pick one. They even had one called "Spaghetti" and really looked like it but it's just vanilla with strawberry topping. I decided on a simple one with hazelnut, nutella & coconut gelato. As Larry said "Is this Heaven?" π Then headed down to MuseumsQuartier, such a relaxing place! The next night we went out as well to meet other interns. Had a great evening talking even with all the political jargon going on lol ππ Felt really grown up when I cooked my first official full meal in my apartment. Although I don't have all my equipment I did a pretty good "Sandwich de Pollo estilo SlavdoreΓ±o"! Have completed all my shopping, cleaning & homework for the week so my weekend is free!!! ππ Super uber excited for tonight, celebrating my friends bday! Well I think that covers this weeks events :)

This weekend has been amazing! My first weekend was more of getting settled in & getting through the adjusting phase of a new place. This weekend I have hanged out with friends and gotten to know Vienna. I went on the Vienna Sightseeing Hop on, Hop Off tour bus which took me to all the city highlights & beyond! I absolutely loved it & recommend it. You get to get off at any stop, walk around, visit monuments, etc. Then wait more or less 7 minutes for the next bus to go to the next stop of continue on, not to mention there are other connecting routes that you can take. I feel more knowledgable of the history and the city layout. Able to visit the opera house, parliament, theater, aurgaten garden, vineyards, lower Austria, mountainside, Habsburg Palace, market, Belvedere, etc It was really great! Also the great part was a parade was passing through when I was at the garden, which I got to take pictures of! Take a look belowππThen headed off to the NFL Kickoff Party with Doug & Pam. It was great to see my team (TEXANS) play! Supporting them from Austria, although Doug & Pam are cowboy fans, for the game Texans VS Redskins they supported my team πππ. To top off my weekend I got to FaceTime with my grandmother & family!!! πͺ ππ Feeling settled and prepared for the week.

Sorry, haven't been able to keep up this week!! So many awesome events planned this week that I haven't had time to post. This week has been from conference rooms, briefings, meetings, orientation, & workshops. I've had a blast learning so much about the United Nations &I it's various organizations. My team is simply always taking care of me & making sure I'm involved. This week I've also gotten settled in my office inside the "Intern's Office" and I love it! There are 3 amazing people that I get to hang out with. Seth, who is not an intern but shares the office with us per renovations is legit as he's constantly helping us &I not bothered with the million questions we ask. Leyli who's Austrian & simply the coolest chick! She's really awesome and has helped me so much. Then there's Larry, whose in the same boat as me. More or less since I beat him here by about 4 days. We've also met other interns from the Tri-Missions, whom were hoping to see more of! Hanged out with Leyli and her friends who are the great fun. We had pizza delivered & I was a bit shocked to find that they put corn on their pizza!! I found it quite good & enjoyed the night with the girls. Today has been crazy but all fun! Had a Welcoming Orientation for all the Newcomers & BBQ Lunch made by our Marines :) After lunch me & Linda decided to head back to UNVIE then continue the orientation as pressing assigments needed to be completed by 5pm. Completed my assignments & headed home!

Today is Day 1 of 2 for the Orientation Workshop at the VIC center (UN Headquarters) The buildings are structured very differently than what one expectes and the only somewhat similarity I can describe it to is the Evans Building at SHSU but 100x bigger & more complex. π³ππ’π° Did have trouble trying to figure out where the room was located at. As stated on the screen similar to the airport it said C4 which is what building & floor I was on but turns out it's located on the 7th floor. It's okay, because I wasn't the only one lost & when I asked for help, the employee wasn't sure either! π Had a great day getting to know the diverse group of people in the workshop. Met people from Egypt, Sweden, Dominican Republic, Ireland, Austria, Nigeria, England, etc!!! Enjoyed the whole session, learned so much about all the divisions at the UN & the structure. After completing the day I headed to my neighborhood &I decided to give one of our local Cafe/Bar a try! I know it's been a week but I haven't had a chance to try their Viennese cuisine. I asked to be given what would be a traditional plate & drink to have. She gave me the name but I'm not sure how to spell itπ Well regardless she responded that it was a sausage with a Viennese bread & people normally got beer. I'm really making an effort to try new things but I just couldn't get the beer, so I got the next thing she offered. A berry vodka drink that's popular here. It was really good & I'm happy I gave that a shot! It's been a bit cold & rainy here so I decided to head home instead of venturing out some more. I got a sweet suprise upon arriving, turns out my Lanlord changes my towels/bedding every week!! πππππππΈ She's really the best! Always gives me advice & I really appreciate that. Now I'm off to get started on my Victomology homework & say Goodnight!
